How to find a trading partner?

There are many different sources for identifying a trading partner, and a lot of work is required to find the right one. In this context it is an advantage to take a closer look at your network.

Most Danish businesses find their trading partner through cooperation partners. Others find their trading partners at conventions/conferences, online, through consultants/advisors or industry associations.

Know your trading partner before you trade?

It is important that you are well involved with the business you want to trade with, so that you can assess whether your or their rights complement each other's businesses.

For example, some of the considerations you may make in relation to a future trading partner are:

  • Should the trading partner be a global or regional player?
  • What is the trading partner's competitive situation?
  • What are the core competences of the business?
